A Journey to Healing: Unpacking the Six Toolboxes of MOJO Health

Updated: Nov 1, 2023

In a world overflowing with health and wellness information, navigating the path to a balanced, healthy and joyful life can often feel like an overwhelming task. It's a journey filled with countless options, methods, and often contradictions. However, when you explore MOJO Health, you will discover a unique and holistic framework that will help you expand your thinking around which healing modalities will be most effective to support your journey. We call it: the MOJO Health Toolbox.

As explained in MOJO Health's podcast MOJO Rising, this approach to well-being is comprehensive; covering all aspects of life. It's not only about treating symptoms. It's about healing, nurturing, and creating a life filled with joy. So, let's examine these six toolboxes and how they can impact your wellness journey.

1. Pharmaceuticals:

This toolbox serves as a reminder that mainstream medicine absolutely has a place in treating disease. However, every pharmaceutical has side effects so it is critical to understand the potential benefits and risks of pharmaceuticals and measure effectiveness along the way. Pharmaceutical medicine can be prescribed to treat primary illness (e.g. chemotherapy) or in a palliative care fashion to reduce the side effects or pain associated with a primary treatment approach (e.g. nausea medicine). MOJO Health emphasizes the importance of informed decisions and open communication with healthcare providers. It is also imperative that you do your part to ensure your body is ready to receive the medicine, maximize the effectiveness, and minimize the risk of side effects.

2. Nutraceuticals:

Nutraceuticals are “Nutritional Pharmaceuticals,” or products made from food sources with extra health benefits in addition to the basic nutritional value found in foods. Think about taking a capsule of Vitamin D, Bromelain, or Turmeric - that is a Nutraceutical. Nutraceuticals are not FDA approved and do not require a prescription. MOJO Health encourages patients to explore how vitamins, minerals, and natural compounds can complement one's diet and promote wellness. It's about nourishing the body from within and giving your body the armor it needs to combat a disease.

3. Botanicals:

Mother Nature offers a wide variety of plants and herbs that have healing properties such as Aloe Vera, Rosemary, Elderberry, or Peppermint. The Botanicals Toolbox allows us to tap into this wealth of natural remedies. From herbal teas to essential oils, this toolbox invites us to explore the world of botanical wellness, offering alternatives that are gentle yet effective.

4. Facilitated Healing:

True healing involves more than just the physical; it extends to the emotional, mental, and spiritual realms. The Facilitated Healing Toolbox introduces us to traditional healing and mental health practices like acupuncture, chiropractic care, massage, meditation, reflexology, and reiki. Facilitated Healers are experts and practitioners in a single healing methodology who have gone to advanced schooling, and some also have a certification or state license. They are often masters of physical change as well as vitality/chi measures as well. Some facilitated healers can be covered by insurance, but others are only self-pay.

5. Diet and Eating Habits:

What we put into our bodies has a direct impact on our health. This toolbox isn't about dieting; it's about making the right choices for your body that will promote well-being. It is about understanding what makes your body operate most effectively and making as many great decisions as possible to support total health. This can include looking at when and how you eat (e.g. intermittent fasting) or other tools to help you heal. This is also about the quality of ingredients and food used. Food is fuel for vitality and wellness.

6. Lifestyle & Environment:

Our external environment plays a significant role in our overall wellness. This toolbox prompts us to take a closer look at our living spaces, relationships and daily routines. It's a push to create a lifestyle that supports our physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. This includes looking at movement and sleeping patterns, stress levels, living environments, etc. What we surround ourselves with often fuels disease, and rest/sleep is the fuel to healing.

What does all of this mean?

When used in conjunction with one another, the six toolboxes are complementary, creating a holistic approach to wellness and bringing together the best of Conventional (Western) medicine and Traditional (Eastern) medicine. MOJO Health encourages us to be active participants in our health journey, to ask questions and seek data.

Further, what sets MOJO Health apart is its dedication to empowerment. It doesn't prescribe a one-size-fits-all solution but provides us with the tools to plan our unique path to healing and well-being. In a world that often relies on quick fixes and surface-level solutions, MOJO Health's six toolboxes offer a unique perspective on how to achieve your health goals by healing from the inside out

As always, we wish you a life filled with health, gratitude, and MOre JOy!
